Nostradamus (1503-1566) is the
most well known and well researched prophets. His prophecies, written down as quatrains, predicted wars
and cataclysmic events around this time in history.
To make these predictions, Nostradamus used a technique called scrying, in which he would stare into a bowl
of water in a dimly lit room and write down what he saw.
Although Nostradamus has been credited with predicting wars and other tragic events in history, none of his
predictions actually refer directly to 2012.
Some people claim that the catastrophic events predicted for 2012 are very similar to what Nostradamus
predicted for this time. hence the connection. Without a specific reference to 2012, though, the evidence is
purely circumstantial.
However, in 1994, a manuscript titled Nostradamus Vatinicia Code was found in the Italian National Library by
a journalist named Enza Massa. Dated 1629, the author's name, Michel de Notredame (Nostradamus), was written
inside, although it was never published by him. Supposedly it was handed down to the prophet's son and later
donated to Pope Urban VIII. This work contains 80 watercolor images with strange and bizarre images and
symbols. Some researchers have investigated the astronomical meanings behind the symbols and have concluded
that they do point to the galactic alignment, which is due in 2012.
